Marina di Cecina is a seaside resort on the Etruscan Coast, in the province of Livorno, with a 2026 Blue Flag beach and a seafront that goes pedestrian in the evening.
A few minutes away is the Tomboli di Cecina Nature Reserve: a pine forest by the sea for walking, running and cycling in the shade.
Bolgheri and its wineries are about half an hour by car: we arrange the tasting with transfer.
For a day out: Volterra, the Gulf of Baratti with Populonia, Pisa and the island of Elba from Piombino.

Of course: the beach is on the doorstep and, in the warm months, umbrella and sun loungers are included in your stay.
Along the pedestrian Viale della Vittoria: seafood restaurants, gelaterias, little shops, bars.
On foot or by bike: a 465-hectare nature reserve along about 15 km of coast. With a little quiet you’ll spot squirrels, hoopoes, woodpeckers, turtle doves and, at dawn, the odd roe deer.
For a walk among the boats at sunset.
About 3 km away: the Archaeological Museum at Villa Guerrazzi and the Roman villa of San Vincenzino, inhabited from the 1st century BC to the 5th century AD.

«I cipressi che a Bólgheri alti e schietti / van da San Guido in duplice filar».
Bolgheri is about half an hour away, behind the hills. It’s the land of some of Italy’s most famous reds, and the best way to get to know it is with a glass in your hand and no road to drive back.
On request we arrange a visit to one of the area’s most renowned wineries, with a wine tasting and return transfer from the hotel: you’ll be back in time for sunset on the terrace. Book before or during your stay, by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail.
Before or after the winery, take the Viale dei Cipressi, which climbs from San Guido to the village between a double row of cypresses: the same ones Giosuè Carducci made famous.
The Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri loop starts and ends on our seafront. Groups of friends on bikes and motorbikes often pass through: Marina di Cecina is a handy base for rides in the area.

With clean and usually calm water, a few steps from your room.
Flat, shady paths, picnic areas and animals to discover.
Cecina’s water park, with slides and pools: a change of scene when the beach is too hot.

The hotel is open from April to October. Each period has its own appeal.
Mostly reds: Bolgheri DOC and Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC, from grapes such as Cabernet and Merlot. There are whites and rosés too, and nearby Terratico di Bibbona and Suvereto. At the winery they’ll tell you about them better than we can.
Yes: the paths are flat and shady, there are picnic areas and in summer it’s the coolest place around.
From Piombino to Portoferraio the crossing takes about an hour. Piombino is about 45 minutes by car from the hotel.
Yes, although in October some seafront places close. Ask at reception: we’ll tell you who’s open and where to eat well.

We have been welcoming guests on the Cecina coast since we were teenagers. We renovated the former Hotel Mediterraneo and look after it every day, from breakfast to tips on the Bolgheri wineries.
